Organized by the Development Center for Biotechnology and Taiwan Bio Industry Organization, the inaugural Senior Health Industry Expo kicked off on August 2 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. Focusing on healthcare, joyful living, and smart services, the event encouraged businesses to create technology-driven lifestyles for older adults. Actively expanding its footprint in the senior wellness ecosystem, Sunnet Education Technology Group joined the expo to promote its vision for smart elder care. On opening day, Sunnet invited Director Liu Yi-Lien to deliver a keynote, empowering the elderly to enjoy high-quality lives in today’s tech-savvy world.


He emphasized that while people today are living significantly longer, society is also facing declining birth rates and major lifestyle changes.

Dr. Liu, who holds a doctorate in Health Policy from Johns Hopkins University, a master’s in Public Health from National Taiwan University, and a master’s in Law from National Chengchi University, is a rare cross-disciplinary expert in both public health and legal studies. In his talk, Dr. Liu used simple, relatable language to engage with the elderly audience, helping them understand how to live a healthy and joyful life.

He emphasized that while people today are living significantly longer, society is also facing declining birth rates and major lifestyle changes. Without proper self-care, the elderly risk a diminished quality of life. He encouraged seniors to plan ahead, set daily goals, ensure 7–8 hours of sleep, eat healthily, and maintain at least 15 minutes of regular exercise each day.


To make the experience engaging, Sunnet incorporated interactive games at their booth, encouraging participation from senior attendees.

Dr. Liu also highlighted the emerging trend of “integrated medical and care services”—leveraging medical resources to support elderly care. With Taiwan approaching a super-aged society, Sunnet is proactively building a support network.
